June 15th,
it's time to walk
What to expect on walk day
Walk the Walk for Autism is a day for community, family and fun!
1. Register Online in Advance
Walk Day will start off smoothly if you make sure you have fully registered yourself and all of your team members online in advance. Don’t leave it to the last minute to register online – t-shirts are ordered well before Walk day and quantities may be limited!
2. Getting Started - First Thing's First
In the morning, make sure to show up nice and early for registration and to get your t-shirts. If you have collected cash or cheque pledges, make sure to bring them with you, along with your completed pledge form(s). Some locations may be able to receive your cash and cheque pledges in advance. Check your Walk Location page for details.
3. Welcome to Fun
After registration closes, you will be welcomed and hear some words of thanks to you, volunteers, and our generous sponsors and donors. Walk locations will have family activities and refreshments for you to enjoy before and after the Walk, or during if you and your family or team would rather stay at the launch site. Family activities may be shut down for short periods during the event for speeches or other activities. Details about family activities and scheduling will be available on your Walk Location page, so check back for news and details.
4. Then we Walk the Walk!
Route maps will be available on your Walk Location page, and some Walk locations will feature your choice of Walks of different lengths.
You’ll be walking with lots of people wearing matching t-shirts, and even teams who have made their own. If past Walks are any indication (and we know they are!), we can look forward to a having a grand time. Make sure to take pictures! Videos even! There are lots of ways to share the fun of Walk Day on this site so friends from away and future visitors can see.
Volunteers will be on hand in distinctive t-shirts to help along the way. Walk the Walk for Autism is a great opportunity to meet lots of people in your community who really care.
*Don't Forget:
Don’t forget your sunscreen and floppy hats (or slickers and umbrellas, but we don’t really want rain now do we?), water, comfy footwear . . . whatever you will need for a day of fun!
